Skara Brae .

One of the most attractive and less known places to visit in the UK is Skara Brae, located in a small group of Islands on Bay of Skaill on the northeast side of the coast of Scotland.  Skara Brae is a Neolithic settlement that is grandiosely preserved for scholars and tourists alike conformed by 10 clustered houses between 3100 – 2500 before our era.  The magnificent state of preservation of Skara Brae has allowed this place to reach the level of WHS (world heritage status). From it was discovered in 1850, Skara Brae has been studied and analyzed and archaeologists have discovered that inside the houses-or stone settlement on Skara Brae has a number of pieces of furniture or similar pieces also made out of stone.  These “furniture” pieces include cupboards, dressers, seats and even storage boxes, which might have been used as some sort of refrigerat

Though it seems that not all the stone buildings were used as housing, it might seem that there was one that was used as a workshop or what in our days would be considered as an office building with cubicles and fragments of hand-crafted pieces made out of bone and leather. In Skara Brae has been discovered the earliest registry known to modern day men of the Pulex irritans or human flea in Europe, though it seems that climate has been the main cause why the settlement was abandoned after an estimate of 600 years of being used, there is little founded argument that might prove or disprove the argument. Therefore, Skara Brae is definitely one of the alternatives for your next trip to the UK.
